It is interesting to know the vocabulary of different places in Mexico, because one word can have different meaning. Sometimes each place have their own idioms. You can also learn about the native words. Young and adult people use different vocabulary to speak.
In our school we will teach you a lot of Mexican Spanish words and idioms. You will be able to practice them with our staff and some of your classmates.
According to the dictionary, an idiom is an expression that cannot be understood by simply analyzing the meaning of it's individual words.
Here we show you some idioms:
una infinidad de – a large number
La niña tiene una infinidad de muñecas - The girl has a large number of dolls.
en pleno día - in broad daylight
Robaron su casa en pleno día - They robbed his house in broad day.
a eso de - at about
Terminaremos a eso de las 9 - We will finish at about 9.
salirse con la suya - to have one's own way.
Laura se sale con la suya todos los días - Laura has his own way every day.
huevos estrellados - fried eggs
Desayunaré huevos estrellados - I will eat fried eggs for breakfast.
